Megarry’s Antique tea shop Essex is a relaxed and friendly tea and coffee shop situated behind Blackmore’s duckpond green in Jericho Cottage. This traditional village teashop caters for every taste in hot and cold beverages, and offers a wide choice of delicious homemade cakes and sponges,toasted crumpets and teacakes. We also offer gluten free treats too.If you require gluten free treats please give us a call in advance before your visit and let us know.
We also provide cream teas with sandwiches, scones and Rhoddes clotted cream and homemade cakes,
But these need to be booked in advance if you require sandwiches
There is always a warm and friendly welcome for everyone including ramblers, vintage car rallies, cyclists, motorcyclists and families.
Megarry’s Antiques has won a BACA award for being the friendliest antique and teashop. We want you to feel at home and if Judi or her staff are busy with another customer when you arrive you are able to help yourself to some beverages so that you don’t have to wait!
We’re a well known ‘pit stop’ for lone cyclists and groups. Free water top up, and a place to secure your bike while you rest and have a cold or hot drink and something to eat. Large groups of over 15 please ring ahead so we can put an extra load on and get more cakes out so that you are served quickly
Dog Walkers will find a warm welcome as dogs are welcome on the patio, and in a vine covered sun deck weatherproof area but are not allowed in the teashop.
Also families with well behaved children are welcome into the teashop too. We do have a high chair for our little visitorS too!
Our facilities also cater for Disability wheelchairs and has easy access around the teashop and to the disableD toilet.
Come in for a rest and refreshment, and don’t worry about your boots.. The main teashop is quarry tiled, or you can use the sheltered ‘sun deck’ or patio depending on the weather. Again if you are a big group we appreciate a phone call so that we can put the urn on and get extra cakes and scones.
